HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Today (the 22nd) is my mom's birthday.
Photobucket
she is turning the big......3-0!! :) hehe... Well at least she looks like it!

As I've grown up and matured a bit, I've realized how much my mom has done for me over my life, and how I ungratefully returned the favor with all the trouble I caused combined with some serious attitude during my teenage years at home. But my mom is the kind of person that still loves me anyway. And now that I've matured a bit we are able to be good friends now, and I love hanging out with her when I am home. My mom has been through a lot throughout her life, and I think she is the strongest and most spiritual person I know, and I think she deserves the best birthday ever!

So Happy Birthday mom! I'm sure dad and the girls have something fun planned for you. And I'm sure Baloo will greet you with some birthday slobber. I love you and hope you have a great day today!!!

Baloo's mom

I feel the same way about Baloo's heritage as does the owner of Sherbert.

Creepers!!

Today I had too many creepy experiences!

So today I decided to take the GRE again, to raise my score even more. I got a good score the first time, but I was all stressed out when I got there and I thought I could have done better. I left two hours early to get to UH and didn't take into account the C.R.A.Z.Y. traffic...big mistake....even with leaving by 6am, I made it to UH at 8:15am....I was so frustrated and annoyed that I ended up parking in a red zone and running allllllll the way across UH campus. Good thing I'm familiar with the campus otherwise I would have been even more late. So I ended up begging the proctor to let me take the test anyway, but my heart rate was up, I was breathing hard, etc. etc. so taking an important timed test is the last thing I wanted to do! So naturally even though I liked my score, I wanted to see how well I did without the stress factors.

So today I trekked down to Honolulu at 5:30 am, 3 hours before the test started! I was NOT going to be late! I actually ended up getting there an hour early, took a nap, and practiced some breathing exercises that I have been learning in PYSCH 390R, and did excellent on the exam! It is amazing how stress can affect you. I'm so glad that I took it again. So worth it. I'll have to tell my psych teacher how the breathing techniques helped to get me a better score, it will probably make him so happy.

Ok so now to the creepers. So since I got there so early, I decided to walk around to find the suite that the testing was in (I took it this time at a different location). I was walking around some alley (which I probably shouldn't have been doing in the first place) when some guy pulls up and asks me what I was looking for. I told him I was looking for the prometric testing center and he said he knew where it was, and said "C'mon, get in, I know where it is," while opening his car door....

....Uh....NO! Red flag people. It was like stuff you see on the news when kids get abducted. I thought he was going to pull out a giant lollipop next to try and bribe me to get in his car. I don't know why he had to drive me anyway, since I was at the location, just walking inbetween buildings. He must have noticed my hesitation because he then said "Oh its ok, I'm security. Get in, I'll show you." He wasn't dressed in a security uniform, so I had no idea whether he was telling the truth or not. But still, I wasn't stupid, so I just said something like, "oh I'll just go that way..." He ended up driving away and pointing in the direction to go in, but I was creeped out.

Next creeper: I found the testing center, and went back to my car. I was putting on some mascara, when some guy walks by the front of my car, and motions his hands like he had a camera and was taking a picture of me. Then he stops, and then continues walking while looking at me the whole time. So creepy!!! I ended up moving my car.

At least I ended up getting a good GRE score. And I won't be going down there again, thats for sure. And don't forget to teach your kids to not talk to strangers!

Today after church Seth and I went for a Sunday walk around Laie.

We found some chillin' cattle egrets ...

...went to the Laie Temple grounds. The temple should be finished in July of next year, and will have an open house and dedication ceremony.

Guess what. I loooooove to bake. Especially creative things!

Today I picked up this book:

Seth actually picked it out for me because he knows how much I love to bake! He knows me too well.

This book teaches you how to make tons of really creative cupcakes, and they make it seem so easy! I can't wait to get started.

Here are some of my favorites:
