Hanauma bay adventure!

Since I have been at BYUH, I have not made the time to go down to Hanauma Bay. The last time I remember going was when I was a kid on frequent trips to Hawaii to visit Grandma. So this past Wednesday, we had a hawaiian holiday, Kuhio day, and decided to make our way down to Hanauma bay to check it out. (these holidays are really what makes me love hawaii--any excuse to get out of work and school!)

When we got there, the parking lot was full, and we had to park down the hill in a neighborhood and then hike all the way up the hill, and then hike another long ways down to the long, and I mean long line to get tickets to get in...

We have hawaii licenses, and we thought we could just flash them to the guy at the gate and get in...but no...we had to wait in the long (45 min) line to get a ticket that tells the guard that we get in for free....?? hmmm...

After the video we had to hike again all the way down the hill to the beach. It was gorgeous!!

There was a huge mass of blinding-white tourists out... but sadly I think I am white enough to blend in due to my posting up in the library for the last few months for school!!

After snorkling around for a while and getting sunburned, we hiked all the way back up the hill, and then all the way down to our car, and then went to the cheesecake factory to enjoy our easter gift certificate (thanks mom!).
Here's the hike down the hill...

Then we just stopped along the way home to enjoy the scenery--beautiful!!

Seth says I take too many pictures-haha.

I love hawaiian holidays. :)

HAPPY EASTER!

Yes, I decorated Baloo as an Easter egg. Don't feel bad for him---he thought that was just scratching him with the markers and calmly sat there while I colored him :)

This year for Easter, we traditionally colored eggs, and then ended up throwing them out because we both hate eggs and were actually kind of grossed out by them. haha.
But after a big mess and some uncertainty on how long to boil the eggs (since we don't make eggs) I think they turned out quite nice!

We had a great day at church with our little friends in our primary class and had a good sacrament meeting. The primary sung in sacrament meeting and it was beautiful! It was my favorite part of church. Afterwards, we just ate chocolate until we were full! I took the time to make a nice dinner for Seth--shredded barbque roast sandwhiches...he LOVED it and couldn't stop talking about how much he loved it...and asked me to make it this sunday too. :)

At the end of the day, we went to bed full of delicious Easter candy and dinner. It was a great Easter sunday!

HAPPY EASTER!

We're taking off soon!

For some reason I forgot that we are leaving for the Philippines this summer until about 2 minutes ago! Holy moly! (I can't believe I just used that word!) Anyways, Seth reminded me that we are leaving on June 23rd and come back sometime at the end of August. That is a really long time. I think the longest time I've been away from "home" (wherever that may be at the moment..) is about 2 weeks. How am I going to cope? Who knows... the way I see it though is Seth is really my "home" and he's coming with me, so that's all I need right? I am going to miss Fatty though. (By the way, we really just call Baloo "Fatty" now...haha!) I can tell you right now that I am going to be stick thin when I come back because I don't adapt well to new foods---pretty picky eater. I'll probably end up eating bread for 2 months!
For those that are actually wondering what the heck we are doing going to the Phillipines, we are going to do research at a university in Cebu to determine the overall effectiveness of the school on those that attend. We are going under the school, so it should be pretty awesome! Seth's professor invited him to go since he did so well in some psych classes (what a surprise, my Seth is so good at everything!) and I am going because of marraige default, naturally, and also because my research and thesis 491 is the equivalent of psych 305....which is pretty much the requirement of the trip!
And guess what? It's all paid for. sweeeeeeet.
I'm just excited to go somewhere, really. Traveling is awesome, and I've never really had the means to go anywhere cool. I heard the money ratio in the phippines is really small comparedto the american dollar, so I'm hoping for some good shopping.

Anyways, now I'm starting to ramble. Last note: everyone should see Horton Hears a Who. I absolutely LOVED it! It was actually really funny and cute. So go see it... NOW!

..I'm being watched!.....

I was sitting on my bed and realized that everything was really quiet in the house. So I started to look around the room, and sure enough, someone was staring at me through the tiniest crack between the wall and the big bookshelf! This was the culprit:

I was actually kind of creeped out at first, but then I thought it was pretty funny! How the heck did he find that crack anyway? This dog is so weird.

mmm...mmm...mmm!

Three words: I LOVE CHEESECAKE!

I had a craving for cheesecake the other day and I went to Foodland to go buy some of the Cheescake Factory original kind. Bad news...the lady told me that they don't sell it anymore!! Noooo! So I ended up settling for Sara Lee..which was a complete waste of time. I'm so bummed that the Cheesecake Factory is an hour away. Someone needs to teach me how to make some delicious cheesecake!!
