More bathing suits!

Living in Hawaii (especially during the summer) allows me to have tons of bathing suits!

Seth says I have too many. More often than not, when I have some extra spending money, I come home with a super cute bathing suit. Seth's exact words are "Not ANOTHER bathing suit!!!"

hehehe.

So no need to tell him I'm already checking out the cute ones for this summer (though I'm sure he already knows.), right?

Here are some of my favorites:

Hiiii!

Wow!

I think this is the longest I have been without blogging!

Truth is, I honestly have had nothing to blog about. Absolutely nothing.

The only new thing with us is that Seth has accepted admission to Columbia and we are moving to NYC this August! We've just begun getting things ready to leave. Seth has been getting stuff ready for school. As for me, I've been thinking of the whole new wardrobe of winter clothes I have to get! :)

And of course, how am I getting my Fatty bulldog over there with us? Do you all remember the horror story of getting him to the mainland from HI? UGGGGggghhhh I don't want to go through that again. Poor Baloo, freaking out in a small cage in the baggage compartment of a plane for 6 hours. Well the best solution I have come up with is Pet Airways.

Photobucket

Ever heard of it? I was so excited when I read about it. They only fly from certain airports, but luckily they fly out of LA to NYC! Pet Airways is an airline only for animals. The only humans on the flight are the flight crew. They have attendants assigned to your pets, and monitor them the whole flight, and give them potty breaks along the whole way, giving the pet a chance to stretch out their legs too! They check on your pet every 15 minutes to make sure he is ok, which is perfect for a wheezing, stressed overweight bulldog! They give your pet another potty break after they land, and then you can pick them up at the "Pet Lounge" afterwards. Couldn't get any better than that. Now I can fly my Fatty without worrying about him rummaging around with the baggage under the plane.

Well other than that, all I have been pretty much doing is ... reading. I've turned into a book worm again. I used to read all of the time, but I had forgotten how much I loved to read. I think bio textbooks ruined it for me. Here are some of the books I've read in the last few weeks:

Photobucket

All of these books are fantastic. I loved every single one of them and would recommend them all. Any suggestions on some new good reads?

Now all that is left to do is enjoy good old Hawaii Nei. Would could complain about spending their summer in Hawaii? I plan on getting some cute bathing suits and heading for the coast to catch some rays. Oh and of course working. Though I would hardly call my awesomely fun job dancing at the PCC work.

I'm looking forward to some celebrating this week. Someone at work told me that once you hit 23 you're slowly starting to die. Great.

BIG NEWS!!!

We just found out today that Seth got accepted into the the Quantitative Methods in the Social Science Masters Program at Columbia University!

Photobucket

What is so amazing is that they didn't even interview him...they said that his application was very strong and that the committee members were very enthusiastic to admit him into the program! What a smartie pants!!!!!!

I am so proud! And so excited!

New York, here we come!

Ok well we haven't officially said "yes" to Columbia yet, because Seth still has an interview at USC this weekend, but we are pretty sure that is where we are going!

Seth has worked so hard over the past few years, and it has finally paid off. I am so proud of him. And I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has blessed us with this. So grateful.

"Seth Kressin Week"

Seth's mother Pattie declared last week "Seth Kressin week," so thats what I've been calling this last week too!

We started off opening presents and eating cake! When I asked Seth what kind of cake he wanted, he told me an ice cream cake...so I've been going all crazy trying to figure out how to get one since he had the car all week and I couldn't go into Kaneohe or anything, so I faced my fears and made one.

It was harder than I thought. The first problem was that hours after I brought all of the ingredients home, I ate all of the ice cream!! (Sorry, blame the hunger!) So I had to hop on my bike late at night to go to the store to get some more! The ice cream kept melting as I was trying to mold it too. But overall, it worked out. It ended up being a cookies 'n cream ice cream cake, with the ice cream in between two vanilla cake layers! yum. But....next year I will only accept regular cake requests.

Photobucket

And then I sang Happy Birthday and he blew out the candles and opened his presents!

Photobucket

Then we went and picked up some of the ABSOLUTE BEST kettle corn ever. No joke. I made Seth get the "big" bag. Last time we got the small one it didn't even last the car ride home.

Photobucket

After that, we made our way up to Haleiwa and ate at our beloved Stortos and Matsumotos, and then I took Seth to do something fun...

Stand up Paddling!

We took the boards all the way down the river underneath the Haleiwa bridge. It was so much fun and so relaxing!

Photobucket

We saw plenty of turtles swimming with us, and some locals with their dogs on their boards. All I could think about was getting Fatty back so I could strap a life vest on him and taking him paddling (though I know he would absolutely hate it).

Photobucket

Can you believe I was brave enough to take my camera with me?! Before I got on I swore that I would protect my camera over all costs! haha. There was one time when I last my balance and fell over, and I instantly held my camera as high as I could above my head as I went under water. I'm sure it was a pretty funny sight to see someone struggling to stay afloat while keeping her camera above the water. But I survived. And so did the camera. Thank goodness.

The best thing to do after paddling:

We had so much fun this week!

Only an ocean away...

I am missing my Fatty. I know you're tired of hearing this, but I raised him since he was an 8-week old chubby little pup and I miss his crazy personality!

Plus his birthday is this Friday (yes, I know my dog's birthday!).

My mom occasionally sends me some pictures of Baloo and it makes me all sad. I miss my little buddy!

Photobucket

One weird thing that Baloo does, is he chews off the nose of every stuffed animal that he can get his paws on. Only the nose. Nothing else.

I figure its because he has a flat face and thus no nose himself. So if he can't have a nose, no one else can either.

So vain.

Today I love...

...the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!

Photobucket

Ok I know I'm sounding like some little ol' homemaker, but this thing is a lifesaver. I don't know why it took me so long to try one of these! They clean EVERYTHING.

So far I have used it to clean:

-The stovetop

-The oven

-Scuff marks on the walls

-The microwave

-The sink

-Stains on the floor

-The shower

-My running shoes

- And even my leather Hobo wallet! (No joke! It completely cleaned it without ruining the leather!)

This little sponge has become my new friend. It cleans everything so easily! Ah, I love things that make my life easier. Go out and get one for yourself. You won't regret it!
