Today I love....

This dress:

I saw it at the Gap the other day and fell in love---but not with the price! BUT---the last dress in my size had a stain on it..so I went and told a worker and they gave me the dress for 40% off of the sale price---so I got it for suuuper cheap! And the stain came right out when I washed it at home.  I have the perfect black cardigan for this beauty. Oh man, do I love finding a good deal on something!

The ULTIMATE beggar face

Ok, I know I said I wouldn't post for a week, but its Saturday...and I just HAD to share this picture...

This is Baloo's ploy of looking as desperate and pathetic as possible in order to guilt you into giving him your food.

...and it always works. Who could say no to this desperate face?

Checking out for the week

I am going to do what Emerson is doing---checking out of the blogosphere for the next week. With homework, projects, and finals coming out of my ears, I need to focus! And as Emerson said, that really would just suck to know that I could have done even a little better on my finals if I wasn't on my computer procrastinating. I can't wait until this is over!--people keep telling me how awful I look (some people are just so RUDE!) ... I study all night and then study all day while running lab work-- ahem...should I REALLY be concerned with how I look so YOU feel better? No. You rude people must suffer through my scruffy "I-was-up-all-night-studying" look for one more week. Deal with it accordingly. Just one more week of hell, and then I can relax for the Christmas season--and blog! So until then---- see you next week and wish me luck!

**And thank you to Emerson for the much-needed idea**

Kaua'i Trip

We're baaaaack! Ok, we got back on Sunday. But our trip was awesome. We left on Tuesday and stayed in a condo in Po'ipu. We hiked the Na Pali coast Wednesday through Thursday. It was so hard. The hike was pretty much just scaling up and down mountains over and over again. We all had huge camping backpacks too! The view was just absolutely amazing though. I kept stopping just to take in the gorgeous scenery!

The trail was pretty scary at points. At the hairiest parts, at about 480 ft above sea level, the trail was on the edge of a cliff, about 1 ft wide, and was eroded and slanted off the cliff---SCARY! We had to take one careful step at a time. One old man passing us in the other direction had the nerve to say "Be careful....there's only one way down!" Who says that to someone whos hiking on the edge of a cliff?

We also passed a nudist who was only wearing a backpack. Ugh. It freaked us out and was pretty weird. Ok It was actually very very weird. We also ran into a wild boar. We just had to wait until it ran away, since wild boars are pretty aggressive and dangerous to run into. Sorry, I was too scared to take a picture of it.

This spot was my favorite. It was at the top of the mountain, and you could see the entire coastline, as well as the valley inland, and it was one of the most amazing views I had ever seen! Please ignore my grossness. Thank you.

The water below was so clear and blue too! I just wanted to jump off into it---but don't worry, I resisted that urge.

On our way back we stopped off at a beach in the first valley. I tried to climb into this cave, but after many unsuccessful attempts, settled for a picture of me just standing next to it.

The beach was gorgeous, and deserted! I felt like it was our private beach! The tiny speck is me.

Some more cool shots:

The next day we were so sore and dirty and tired that we just relaxed. I could hardly move. Every muscle hurt soooo badly. I had to toss my shoes because the hike had just torn them to shreds! But we just hung out and enjoyed the sunny Ha'ena beach, where we saw a Hawaiian Monk seal...or Baloo???

Uncle Mike and his family happened to be in Kaua'i at the same time! Seth and I were able to go to dinner with them and hang out at the Hyatt hotel for a while. It was really fun to see them and hang out! They even let us stay in their extra room after they left for one night! That was nice, since our beds (2 twins pushed together) at the condo were as hard as a rock. We even got to play around at the awesome pools for a bit.

Hooray, we're all tan now! Seth feels the need to keep calling me "Darkie."
And of course, we went to Dukes on our last night. What a way to top it off!  It was such a fun trip.Unfortunately my camera got water in it in the middle of the trip (its a waterproof camera---go figure?) so I only have pictures from half the trip---the other half are on camille's camera. I'll post those when I can get ahold of them.

11 more days until our next trip ...to California ...and then Vegas for our anniversary!

Thanksgiving

Sorry I haven't kept up with anything lately---I call this last week of classes "Hell week" since everything is due this week and I have to study for finals and all that!
BUT...Thanksgiving dinner was a success! Camille and I split up the different food and then had one big dinner at our house! Elizabeth and James came with some DELICIOUS ROLLS (which I soooo need the recipe for by the way) and Mei Fung (not sure on the spelling) brought some yummy fruit jello! We had turkey, gravy, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, cookies, pumpkin pie, apple pie, ice cream, bread rolls, pineapple, all sorts of different juices--pretty much the works. Here is a shot of the amazing feast....

I didn't get a shot of the awesome turkey Camille and Carrie put together (Sorry, I must have been too busy stuffing my face...) but here are some of the other foods that were there...
Mashed potatoes, apple pie, green bean casserole, and some of my snickerdoodles that my primary kids are absolutely obsessed with! ( I can get them to be reverent for a whole 2 hours with those things).

We ate, played Cranium (girls lost...boo.), and played some Mario Party and just laughed for a while. It was a lot of fun, and the food was DELICIOUS! This was the first Thanksgiving Camille and I had done, and we had a lot of fun putting it together and making the food. It was a great (early) Thanksgiving! I'm getting hungry again just thinking about all the good food we had.
