Our new home is so much more spacious and roomy than our old place....and crazy landlady-free...which is probably the best attribute. Here is a view from our backyard.. gorgeous isn't it?

Our living room...our house didn't come furnished at all, so we don't have much, as you can see. We need to put up our poster of Kramer..haha.
My absolute favorite part about our place is the ocean breeze...  no need for AC or fans at all--just pop open the windows! It's great to feel in the morning when you wake up.  I'm so glad we got out of our stuffy place where our nutty landlord gardens at 5 am.  So it ended up being a blessing that our landlord sold our contract before asking us if we were going to renew it.  We are so grateful that the Lord has blessed us with this place to live for the next year!

Philippines update

I just realized that we are leaving for the Philippines in 19 days! Thats not that much time at all, and we have so many things to do before then!
I know a little more about what we are doing over there. We are going to the ACE academy in Cebu, a province of the Philippines. Not really near Manila. The ACE academy teaches local filipinos how to start and run their own businesses, and we are there to see how effective ( if effective) this school is and what the returnability rate is for the students that graduate to the Philippines is. Anyway, Seth and I are the only couple going, and I was afraid that we would have to share an apartment with a couple other people...but we ended up getting our own place--sweet. The owner of the school showed us some pictures of the city and it looks gorgeous....lots of open, beautiful landscape. There are some really poor areas and lots of poverty, so we will see things that we have never seen before. But we're there to help and do what we can, and I'm excited for the experience. It looks so beautiful over there! I haven't traveled much, so this should be quite the trip!!




One thing that won me over for this trip is that there is a movie theatre nearby that plays movies in english!!! So I get to see Wall-E and Batman....YESSSS! We're staying there for 2 whole months...so thats something that helped ease the pain of being gone for so long. And I have my DVD player that my lovely hubby got me for my birthday that will help with the awful plane ride. But I think I'm finally excited to go. And did I mention that the Cebu TEMPLE is about 10 minutes from our house?! Score.


Poor Fatty. Our little Aussie dog stuck in Hawaii without his 2 best friends for 2 months. I'm going to miss him. Our bishop offered to watch him (Bishop Prescott LOVES Baloo). Bishop has a couple dogs of his own, so Baloo will have the chance to interact with other dogs, which will be really good for him. And Sister Prescott is a professional dog trainer--I'm hoping Baloo will pick up some pointers from her! So fatty will be well taken care of while we are gone. I'm sure he'll gain like 10 more pounds while we're gone--as always. :)

I hope we have the internet so I can post our experiences up here. Keep checking back--I'll be sure to document our amazing trip! We leave June 21st! Lets hope I don't do something stupid and forget my passport....someone remind me before I leave! :)

Monday was my 21st birthdaaaaay!


Thats me. With dark brown hair. plus a cheesecake. ....and minus the alcohol.

This year is the first year that I actually feel OLD. And as I was thinking this, I got a call from my mom saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLD LADY!"
I am so happy that I have such wonderful friends that all remembered my birthday! It was so nice to hear from my family and friends. Claude even sung to me! (I think only a few of you would know how funny that was)
Unfortunately, we're in the middle of moving, so we had to do that most of the day, but I got to go shopping with my wonderful present from my mother-in-law! (Thanks so much Pattie!) Seth got me a portable DVD player that hooks onto your ipod (AWESOME!) which I can use on the 10+ hour plane ride to the philippines! I love it. Just what I wanted. We're postponing birthday dinner and beach fun until Friday, when I don't have physics homework and after the moving. Can't wait! I'll post pictures soon.

Anyway, our new house is awwwwweeesome. Its right on the beach, and gets an amazing ocean breeze coming through the house--no need for AC. Its bigger than our place now, and doesn't have an insane landlord! It even has an OVEN! I can't wait to bake more than 3 cookies at a time! Our bedroom has an ocean view! Moving sucks, but we're so excited to live in our new place! I'll post pictures soon of our new place once we clean up everything. YAY-No more CRAZY landlord!!!!
