To all my bloggy-friends----

Add yourself as a follower to my blog! I will love you forever!

Do it---it will be funnnnn.  Right here -------------------->>>>>>

Where is the light at the end of the tunnel?

Has anyone just felt so overwhelmed and over scheduled that you just feel like you're going to explode at any given moment?
That is exactly how I feel.

I have never had more things to do in my entire LIFE, and I am slowly drowning in piles and piles of biology and chemistry. I just spend night after night studying for tests, and then as soon as I think it's over---another colossal wave of labs and research presentations hit me in the face----right in the FACE!
So where is the light at the end of the tunnel? I've hit a point of despair, where I think its never going to end, and I'm not even sure I'm going to make it that far. I never sleep, my hands permanently smell like latex gloves, and my arm has seemed to develop a permanent "crook" from carrying incredibly monotonous bio books. And when I do sleep (and I'm totally not kidding), my dreams are full of molecule models and folding proteins. UGH- how awful!
Sometimes I feel like I understand everything in class--sometimes I feel like I don't get anything and just want to cry because I'm so frustrated. And the assignments never end.

How do people handle this stuff? Senior year sucks. I    D.R.E.A.M    of the day I can grab that diploma and run far far away from this school!------all the way to graduate school anyway. Any words of encouragement/support? Or ideas on how to handle everything?

So tired----Help??

Wiener Dogs

My mom sent me this picture today. They have a herd of wiener dogs (four of 'em!)  back home. I thought the picture was really cute!

From left: Hammy, Hurley, and Blitz. Romeo is missing from the bunch.  Who knew they synchronized their sleeping. I miss these guys.

Let's Celebrate!

Today is full of good news!

1. Seth was asked to come up with a 400 question test for a Psychology textbook written by a Harvard Professor last week, and the test he came up with was approved! It will look fantastic on his resume.

2. My friend Camille applied to Stanford PA school the other day--she has been trying to decide for a while on whether to apply or not and she got the guts to do it! Awesome!

3. Seth and I got called into the Primary today---again! Sundays are great when you spend them playing games and eating snacks with a bunch of kids----oh and uh, teaching them. hehe.

4. I am officially in for graduation and I am getting a minor in Biochemistry.

5. I stumbled upon an awesome recipe for roast.  I love making good sunday dinners.

6. Our friend Mike turned 27 this week after finding out he had thought he was turning 28! And I won Richard Geare cereal at the party! Score.

7. I found a really cute dress for super cheap at Nordstroms rack yesterday, and it was the last one and in my size! I know thats kind of lame good news, but it feels so good to find a good deal on something.

What a great way to start the week!

The probability of finding "a Lacey"

In class we were talking about the probability of finding electrons at a particular time and place around a molecule and their different affinities for other molecules. Soooo... randomly I thought.. what is the probability of finding a Lacey? --ok I was bored- don't laugh at me. Anyway, this is what I came up with when I should have been paying attention on how to calculate K eq's:

During weekdays, you have a 58% chance of finding a Lacey here:

...the Biochem lab---way too many things to do in here and way too little time to do them. I spent 8 hours in here yesterday making LB agar plates and a phosphate buffer.

...a 15% chance of finding a Lacey here:

My favorite place to study. The library is wayyyyy too cold for me. My brain functions better in the sun.

...and an 10% chance of finding a Lacey with these people during weekdays:

Nate and Camille--we pretty much do everything with these guys. Especially on weekends!

...and a 17% chance of finding a Lacey here:

Where i spend time with my love and the fat bulldog.

...and on the weekends a 90% chance of finding me here with the love of my life: (Lacey's have HUGE affinities for Seths!)

(the other 10% of the weekend you probably will find me at Stortos--my second home!)

Where would you most likely be found during the week?

Early Morning

I think the early morning is the most peaceful part of the day. Everything is still and calm, and so relaxing!  I love waking up early and watching the sun rise and being able to relax before my hectic day starts.  This is what I saw this morning when I got up:

I'm totally a morning person due to many years of early classes. I love waking up early while everything is so calm and quiet. I feel so gross when I sleep in until the afternoon. To me, nothing is better then being able to peacefully start your day by seeing a gorgeous sunrise while eating a yummy breakfast!

Tagged....Quirky!

Ok, sorry Emerson for taking so long to do this....so here goes.

The Rules:
Link the person(s) who tagged you.
Mention the rules on your blog.
Tell about 6 quirks of yours.
Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them.
Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

And I'm sure I have far more than 6 quirks.

Quirk #1
I love animals. You probably would say that's not really a quirk....but it is when you try to take home animals everyday! I've tried to take home cats, dogs, pigs, rats (from the pet store--don't freak out) a hedgehog, a rabbit, and a ferret. If Seth wasn't here to regulate my "quirk," I would probably have somewhat of a farm by now.

Quirk #2
I am deathly freaked out by cockroaches.  They will never become a regular part of my life, and I will never get used to them--even if I have to see them every day.  There is always a war in my house: me vs. the roaches...and sometimes I think the roaches are winning. They use tactics like crawling on my pillow to freak me out. And it works! Even fatty is scared of the roaches. Wimp.

Quirk #3
Underneath my ruffled skirt and pink cardigan, I am an underground sports junkie.  I watch football, basketball, and soccer every season, every year. I have been involved with sports for as long as I can remember, and I like to think I would have gotten some sort of scholarship for soccer if I wasn't retarded and quit the team my senior year in high school.  Some people think I'm involved with sports to have something in common with Seth, and that actually really irritates me. Call me out and I'll show you that I can throw a football like nobody's business!

Quirk #4
I am an all-out science nerd. I may not talk about my major or what I research, but I love science! Learning something awesome like how the cardiovascular system works totally amazes me. I may make fun of all the nerds, but deep down, I am probably more nerdy than they will ever be---actually I hope I'm not that nerdy. You be the one to judge.

Quirk #5
I wash my face like 3 or 4 times a day.  Yes, thats a lot, I know.  People ask me my secret for having such clear skin.  There you go.  Go wash your face!

Quirk # 6
I am freakishly good at Guitar Hero. I almost beat it on expert over the summer. I am terrible at all other video games, but at Guitar Hero I will kick your trash!

 I tag: Mikensi G., Rachel A., Shaye C., Elizabeth R., Monique A., and Katy R.

Fun weekend

We had a great weekend hiking to Maunawili falls and looking like hobos at Costco. Thanks Camille and Nate!

Gorgeous view!

Camille about to jump!

Waikiki Beach

In the last 3 years I have never been down to Waikiki beach during the day...and I couldn't remember why! So we made a trip down there a week or so ago to hang out and surf.   And then I remembered why I don't go to Waikiki beach... I've never seen a place so CROWDED before.

There were like 200 people with surfboards out in the water waiting for waves, so instead of surfing we got some cheap floaty tubes and floated around the beach area, which ended up being a lot more fun!
Getting a nice tan:

..Falling off the tube:

And nothing topped the day off better than getting our club sandwiches and carrots at the cheesecake factory--our 2nd home. They even gave us a free cheesecake because we waited for so long. Score!

Today I love....

These cushy rubber rainbow sandals! I got them a week or so ago when I trashed my other ones that I wore throughout the Philippines trip.  Everyone that went can agree that we walked through some nasty stuff. Anyway, these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. The soles are made of soft rubber and the straps are SO soft. When I got them I hadn't really gotten the chance to try them out too much--but I've been wearing them all throughout my 10 hour days at school, and my feet have never felt better. I feel like I'm walking on cushions all day---love them!

stressed

It's the first week of school, and I'm already starting to drown in the work.  I already have multiple Biochemistry quizzes, boring readings in 4 different textbooks, a quiz on invertebrate phylum, some random art assignment that I don't know how to do, and I have to start a research paper this week. I also have to do a writeup for an approval of my 492 research project (which I was supposed to do last semester) and apply for a loan. I need to renew my lab key and find subjects for my project this week too.  Isn't your senior year supposed to be less hectic than the other 3 years??  It seems like everyone else is taking  2 or 3 classes. I'm already stressing.

Oh and I somehow lost the battery to my camera.  I have no idea how that happened.

And Baloo chewed up my brand new shoes.  Bad dog!

STRESSED! I need encouragement!
